Treasurer’s Report

Dave Jackson provided update on board’s account balances.  Current balance is $xxx

Jackson reported that we have 935.  Paying members are up to 101 and lifetime members are 46 (down 2).

A new cycle of admissions is starting and files are being opened.  Board talked about whether or not to continue the SLS scholarship.  Consensus was that we should continue scholarship if there are high school students genuinely interested in attending.

WP Parents Club

Currently we are experiencing record membership in the WP Parent’s club.

Biznet continues as normal.  It is still held bimonthly at 0700 at the DTC Marriott.

Golf Tournament

Society made $2,575 during the golf tournament.  The score wasn’t even close and the West Point team won again!

Air Force Game

Board discussed options for purchasing tickets to the Air Force game.  Option #1 is to link up with WPSPP and buy tickets on line (200 tickets available).  Option #2 is to buy from AAA.  Option #3 is to buy block of tickets for WPS-D.  Option #1 was chosen as it will be less of a burden on our society.

Founders Day 2011

Proposed dates are March 3rd or 10th.  Currently, the Superintendent is scheduled, with a caveat that if he has to go overseas then he will not attend.  We have to remain flexible.  University Club is locked in for our venue again this year.

Board members decided to live with the current bylaws.

The next newsletter will be distributed in September. It will include information on the Army-Air Force game and will also talk about planning of the Army-Navy festivities.

Quarterly Membership Meeting
The next QMM will be held on Friday evening (TBD) at the Heather Ridge Country Club.  Dan Branch ’59 will be the guest speaker.

Navy Game
Plan is to hold Army-Navy game viewing at the Heather Ridge Country Club again this year.

Leadership Conference
Lindy Blackburn will represent the WPSD this year.

Founder’s Day
Board deemed that the University Club is the ideal location for the event this year.
