Review Minutes

Draft minutes from October, 4 2011 were approved with a unanimous vote.

Treasurer’s Report

Dave Jackson provided update on board’s account balances.  Current balance is $xxx
(-$xxx this month).  Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved.  Motion made to put a deposit down for University club ($1000) for Founder’s Day. Motion approved.   Dave Jackson will propose a budget for next year.  He will include expenditures that we had this year that have come up so that they can be planned for and approved next year.

Membership

Jackson reported that we have 957 total members (up 11), 99 paid members (up 3), and 49 lifetime members.  Jackson reported one death in the WPSD, Truby ‘45.

Website

Designing a seal with copyright was discussed.  Link for Army-Navy flyer will be added to website.

Admissions

No official admissions report as Bob Walcott and Amy Efaw were unavailable.  Chuck Jones said he would send an email asking board members to report which congressional panels they attended this year.

WP Parents Club

The All Academy Ball this year is scheduled for December 29, 2011 at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.

Biznet

Biznet is still held weekly on Tuesdays at 0700 at the DTC Marriott.  Biznet continues to be important to our society because it helps us stand out as a distinguished society.  Air Force graduates are overrunning the meetings and increased attendance from West Point graduates is desirable.  Members can save money by parking at Garcia’s parking lot.

Founders Day 2012

Proposed date is March 3rd.  Currently, the Superintendent is scheduled, with a caveat that if he has to go overseas then he will not attend.  We have to remain flexible.  University Club is locked in for our venue again this year.

Air Force Game/Tailgate

Members who got their tickets early easily ordered them online and were able to sit in the designated West Point section. Latecomers took what they could get outside the WP section.  It was nice for the society not to have to take charge selling the tickets.  The pregame tailgate went well for the most part, although there were some complaints about the food, delayed because of rain.

Newsletter
The newsletter should be compiled around the first of the year.  Goal is to distribute finalized newsletter by February 1, 2012.  Hard copies will be mailed with a reminder for members whose dues are outstanding.

Quarterly Membership Meeting
25 members attended the last quarterly meeting which was held in conjunction with the Army-Air Force game.  MAJ McClellan presented an Admissions brief.

Navy Game
9 members have signed up for the gathering at Heather Ridge Country Club.  Sam Thiessen will bring the WPSD banner or hand it off to Lindy before the event.  Board discussed a possible change of venue next year to draw a younger crowd.  Mile High Station was one venue suggestion.

Annual Planning Meeting
The annual planning meeting will be held January 24, 2012 at the Heather Ridge Country Club.

Old/New Business

None.

Meeting Adjourn

The meeting was adjourned at 12:31.
